Routine exams are covered by routine vision insurance. If you carry this type of insurance your insurance will pay for part or total of the visit and prescriptions for glasses or contact lenses depending on your coverage. They will not cover costs for a medical condition. Vision 3C Specialists doesn’t take Vision Plans at this time.
Medical exams are covered by Medical insurances, the same insurance that covers treatment from your primary care provider for hypertension or diabetes for example. They will cover only if there is a medical diagnosis (i.e dry eye, allergic conjunctivitis, cataracts, diabetes etc). However, they may not cover for the test done to prescribe glasses or contacts. Some insurances allow for both but they are less and less common. Medicare, for example, will not cover for glasses prescription.
What is a Refraction: A refraction test is performed to find out if you need glasses or contact lenses and give us the information to issue a prescription for glasses. Most medical insurances will not cover costs for this. We can still do it if you have a medical diagnosis but you may be responsible for the cost.
We accept cash, checks, credit card and we offer financing through Care Credit for those major procedures or high deductibles.
We will be glad to discuss payment option whether you are insured or not. 3C Vision Specialists wants to help you get the best service and patient care you deserve
